- Permanent / Full Time
- Genuine ability to create new systems, processes and reporting
- Join a manufacturing business at a genuine inflection point of growth
- Flexibility built in — one day a week WFH, plus a business that values people
The Client
Our client isn't standing still! With new proprietary technology being licensed to sell across the world, this is a business genuinely scaling up. As the outgoing Accountant prepares for retirement in December, they're bringing on their successor now giving you a rare, fully-supported handover before you take the reins in the new year.
This is a well-established WA manufacturing business with products supplying into the agricultural sector. The business sells domestically across WA (expanding into the eastern states) as well as into Asia and New Zealand. The business is about to commercialise new technology and sell it across Asia. This is a current business with real momentum combined with a close-knit, people-first culture where tenure runs long and new ideas are genuinely welcomed.
About the Role
As Senior Management Accountant, you'll own the end-to-end monthly financial close, working closely with the Deputy CFO and playing a key role in the manufacturing operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Month-end process and management reporting covering P&L; and cost centres
- Inventory management and Cashflow management
- Multi-currency processing (USD, NZD, AED) and trade finance reconciliation
- BOM management with a continuous focus on cost of inputs including freight
- You will partner with operations to build KPI reporting to improve performance across the manufacturing facility
- You will partner with both the Deputy CFO and Operational staff to build accurate budgeting and forecasting
- Beyond the core close, you'll coordinate accounts payable coding,
support fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure BAS/FBT compliance.
This isn't a "keep the lights on" finance role. You'll be expected to dig into the numbers, challenge assumptions, and build out the analytical and business partnering side of the function — improving data integrity, refining the chart of accounts, and helping stand up proper budgeting and forecasting from the ground up.
About you
- Qualified accountant (CPA, CA or CIMA) — preferred but not essential for the right candidate
- Minimum 5 years' experience at a comparable level, ideally within FMCG, manufacturing or a similar industrial/agribusiness sector
- Advanced Excel skills
- Exposure to large ERP systems (Epicor experience highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of retail trade promotions, rebate accounting and manufacturing or agribusiness cost structures
- Proven ability to manage high-volume data to strict monthly close deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and confident cross-functional communication
What's on Offer
- $140,000 – $160,000 base + super, depending on experience
- One day per week work-from-home flexibility
- A predictable, protected month-end close cycle and genuinely good work/life balance
- A structured handover with the outgoing Group Accountant before their December retirement
- The chance to shape budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes from the ground up in a business that's actively investing in getting it right
- Exposure to a growing, diversifying business with new commercial ventures on the horizon
