A major bank is seeking an Azure DevOps Engineer with robust AKS expertise to join a customer reliability engineering team on a 12-month contract.Role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne- 2 days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

- Engineer, automate and support Azure cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on AKS.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable reliable, repeatable and secure delivery.
- Build and enhance Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Contribute to customer reliability engineering outcomes, improving resilience, availability and performance.
- Work closely with platform, engineering and reliability teams to uplift automation and operational maturity.
- Apply strong engineering practices to solve platform challenges, avoiding manual or reactive operations where automation is possible.

Key Skills / Experience

- Strong hands-on Azure cloud engineering experience.




- Deep AKS experience, including platform build, administration, troubleshooting and optimisation.
- Solid automation and engineering capability across cloud infrastructure environments.
- Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
- Experience working in an SRE, reliability engineering or platform engineering environment is highly desirable.
- Background in large enterprise environments; experience within a top-tier banking or financial services setting will be highly regarded.
- A practical engineering mindset
