About our Company
TCB Demolition and Construction Pty Ltd is an established demolition company delivering commercial, industrial and residential projects across Victoria. We specialise in structural and non-structural demolition, stripouts, Builders Clean, site preparation and associated construction services.
We are seeking and experienced and highly capable Construction Project Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the successful planning, coordination and delivery of demolition, and construction projects across Victoria.
About the role
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned projects, including planning, procurement, resource coordination, construction delivery, cost control, stakeholder management, safety, quality assurance and project close-out.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, builders, developers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and in accordance with contractual, technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and review architectural drawings, engineering specifications, construction documentation and contractual requirements to ensure accurate project planning and delivery.
- Coordinate labour resources, procurement activities, subcontractors, plant equipment and materials to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely and within agreed timeframes.
- Prepare, monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts and operational performance to achieve project milestones and financial objectives.
- Oversee site safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance, ensuring works comply with Victorian building regulations, environmental requirements, WHS legislation and relevant Australian standards.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and negotiate the building owners,
property developers, architects, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Direct and coordinate demolition and construction activities, ensuring works are undertaken in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project methodologies and safety procedures.
- Develop and implement project risk management strategies, conduct regular site inspections, identify potential risks and constraints, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, site records, project updates, variations, RFIs and other contractual and operational documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Construction management, Building, Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience may be considered in substitution for the formal qualification, where applicable.
- Relevant professional experience in demolition, and construction
- Demonstrated experience in managing construction projects from planning and procurement through to completion and handover
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project scheduling, cost control and subcontractor management
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, engineering documentation, specifications and contracts
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety, environmental requirements and construction compliance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, completing priorities and deadlines.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Experience in demolition and construction project management
- Robust understanding of commercial and industrial construction environments
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and labour
- Strong cost management and commercial awareness
- Experience with project scheduling and construction management software
- Strong problem-solving and decision -making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
Computer & Software Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience with Microsoft project, Procure or similar project scheduling software
- Competent in construction estimating, project management and document control software
- Ability to work with PDF, digital drawings and document management systems
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar technical drawing software is desirable
- Familiarity with structural analysis software such as Spacegass, ABAQUS is highly regarded
