About the role We are working with a well-established not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Senior Accounts Payable Officer for a permanent position based in Brisbane.
This is a high-volume accounts payable role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes ownership of their work and can build solid relationships across the organisation.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time while supporting a smooth and efficient finance function.
Key responsibilities
- Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process.
- Ensure invoices are correctly coded, approved and processed.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to supplier and internal queries in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records and support month-end activities.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes.
About you We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer who is organised, reliable and comfortable working in a high-volume environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a high-volume accounts payable role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.
Experience working within a not-for-profit, or similarly complex organisation would be advantageous, but is not essential.
