Job Description
Here at NEXTDC we are building some of the most advanced data centres in the Asia Pacific, and the equipment that powers them needs to be right before it ever reaches site. This role owns our Factory Acceptance Testing program across the project portfolio, making sure switchboards, generators, UPS systems and transformers meet specification and quality standards while they are still on the factory floor.
Reporting to the Services & Commissioning Director, you will manage a panel of external commissioning agents who witness FATs on our behalf and attend manufacturer facilities yourself for first of kind equipment or where supplier performance warrants a closer look. It is a role with real influence over delivery outcomes: every defect caught in the factory is one that never becomes a site problem.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining the FAT program across the portfolio, setting inspection scope,
hold points and acceptance criteria for electrical and mechanical equipment
- Reviewing manufacturer test procedures and ITPs, and issuing approvals, comments or rejections in coordination with Engineering
- Engaging, briefing and managing a panel of external commissioning agents, and quality assuring their inspection reports before they reach NEXTDC management
- Attending manufacturer facilities personally for first of kind and complex assemblies
- Issuing and tracking NCRs to resolution, maintaining the defect register and reporting on rectification progress and delivery risk
- Monitoring manufacturing schedules against construction programs and escalating risks early enough to act on them
This prospect will see you working with world leaders in our space. Join our Australian journey now and be an integral part of our success.
