About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cultural Support and Engagement Worker to work with children, young people, families, carers and staff across MCDATSIC Delegated Authority. This role helps ensure culture, family, kin, Country and community remain at the centre of planning and support for our children.

Key Responsibilities

- Strengthen children and young people’s cultural identity, family and kinship connections.

- Support cultural planning, family mapping and safe family/kin connections.

- Help children maintain connections to Country, community, Elders and family.

- Participate in family meetings, case planning and reviews.

- Work alongside CB - Connected Beginnings, Foster and Kinship Care, Family Wellbeing Service and SILS teams.

- Provide cultural guidance and support to staff.

- Maintain professional case notes and cultural records.

- Support a strong and culturally safe team workplace.

- Travel across the Fraser Coast as required.

About You

You will have strong cultural knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families and community.

Essential requirements:

- Experience in cultural support,



child protection, family support, youth work or community services.

- Strong communication and case-note writing skills.

- Ability to work respectfully with Elders, families, carers, community and government services.

- Current Working with Children Blue Card.

- Current driver licence.

- Ability to obtain a satisfactory LCS2 suitability outcome.

Relevant qualifications and previous experience in a community-controlled, child protection or child and family service are highly regarded.
