Occupational Therapist | New Graduates & 1–2 Years’ Experience

Cross Care Group | Brisbane & Gold Coast
Full-time or part-time | Community visits + work-from-home report/admin days

Salary package: $80,000 to $95,000 plus superannuation, based on experience, with a $2,000 annual CPD allowance, company laptop and phone, and reimbursement for approved work-related travel.

Build your OT career with support

Starting your career as an Occupational Therapist—or ready for your next step after a year or two in practice?

Cross Care Group is welcoming new graduate Occupational Therapists and OTs with 1–2 years’ experience to our Allied Health team.

You’ll help people build independence, participate in everyday activities and live more safely at home and in their communities. Along the way, you’ll develop your clinical reasoning, assessment and therapy skills with practical guidance, clear workflows and a supported caseload build-up.

What you can expect

- Support as you settle in: structured induction, planned caseloads and a gradual increase in responsibilities.

- Clinical guidance and feedback: support with clinical reasoning, assessments and reports, with clear pathways for discussing complex matters.

- Professional development: a $2,000 annual CPD allowance to build your skills.

- Tools for the role: company laptop and phone provided.

- Travel reimbursement: reimbursement for approved work-related travel.

- Work-from-home report and admin days, alongside community appointments.

- Administration and scheduling support, plus templates and practical resources.

For new graduates, the focus is on building strong foundations: understanding the person’s goals, completing assessments, planning therapy and developing clear, helpful reports.

For OTs with 1–2 years’ experience, the role offers opportunities to strengthen your judgement, broaden your skills and take on increasing responsibility with support appropriate to your experience.

Your work

You’ll provide community-based occupational therapy across Brisbane and/or the Gold Coast, working with clients, families, carers and other professionals.

Your work may include:

- Functional capacity and daily living assessments.

- Therapy that builds skills in everyday routines, independence and participation.

- Assistive technology recommendations and trials.

- Home and environmental recommendations that support safety and function.

- Clear reports, progress notes and practical recommendations.

- Collaboration with families, support teams and other health professionals.

Your caseload and the complexity of your work will be matched to your experience and clinical capability, with support as your skills develop.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is curious, thoughtful and willing to learn. You communicate respectfully, follow through on your work and are comfortable asking questions when you need guidance.

You’ll bring:

- A qualification in Occupational Therapy.

- Current AHPRA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencing practice.

- An Australian driver licence and reliable vehicle for community appointments.

- An interest in helping people achieve meaningful everyday goals.

- A commitment to developing your clinical reasoning, communication and report-writing skills.

- Australian work rights and the ability to meet relevant screening requirements.

Previous paid OT experience is not required for new graduate applicants. Your placement experience, willingness to learn and approach to working with people matter.
