This is a senior management position with significant responsibility for the performance of the region, including leadership of Case Managers and Youth Workers, quality of care, compliance, financial performance, stakeholder relationships and the ongoing development of services.

We are looking for an experienced leader who can balance robust people leadership with operational accountability — someone who is confident making decisions, managing competing priorities and maintaining high standards within a complex child protection environment.

About Hope Support Services

Hope Support Services provides residential care and support to children and young people with complex needs across South East Queensland.

Our mission is:

Providing REAL support, teaching REAL skills, seeing REAL outcomes.

Our vision is:

Empowering individuals, keeping families together and young people positively engaged.

Our work is guided by our values:

Progressive | Collaborative | Compassionate | Dedicated | Inspired

Our Regional Managers play an important role in ensuring these principles are reflected in the quality of care provided to young people, the leadership of our teams and the performance of our services.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Senior Management Team, the Regional Manager will have overall responsibility for the effective operation of the South East Region.

Key responsibilities include:

· Providing leadership, supervision and direction to Case Managers and residential care teams.

· Building a strong, accountable and professional workplace culture across the region.

· Ensuring children and young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.

· Ensuring services operate in accordance with legislation, licensing requirements, departmental expectations and Hope Support policies and procedures.

· Maintaining oversight of placement performance, staffing levels, service delivery hours and operational requirements.

· Managing regional budgets and maintaining oversight of financial performance.

· Reviewing audits, Critical Incident Reports, compliance matters and identified areas for improvement.

· Ensuring risks,

incidents and concerns are responded to appropriately and within required timeframes.

· Overseeing recruitment, workforce allocation, supervision, performance management and professional development.

· Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Child Safety, government stakeholders and other agencies.

· Representing Hope Support professionally in stakeholder and departmental meetings.

· Supporting new placements, service development and growth opportunities within the South East Region.

· Maintaining oversight of residential properties, vehicles and other operational assets.

· Participating in the organisation’s on-call escalation structure and providing senior leadership support outside normal business hours when required.

· Remaining operationally capable and willing to support Case Manager or Youth Worker functions where circumstances require.

About You

This role requires more than simply managing staff.

We are looking for a leader who takes ownership, follows matters through and is prepared to be accountable for both the quality of services delivered and the performance of their region.

You will ideally demonstrate:

· Significant experience within residential care and the Queensland child protection sector.

· Previous leadership or management experience within residential care or a comparable human services environment.

· A strong understanding of supporting children and young people with complex behaviours and support needs.

· Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, supervise and hold staff accountable.

· Strong judgement and confidence managing incidents, risk and competing operational priorities.

· Sound understanding of compliance, auditing, reporting and continuous improvement.

· Strong stakeholder-management skills, particularly when working with Child Safety and other government representatives.

· Financial and commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, staffing resources and service delivery.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organisational and time-management skills.

· The ability to remain calm,

professional and decisive in challenging situations.

· A leadership style that is visible, accessible and actively engaged with the operation of the region.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold, or be able to obtain and maintain:

· A relevant qualification in Community Services, Human Services, Social Work or a related field.

· Relevant leadership and management qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent management experience.

· Current unrestricted driver’s licence.

· Current Blue Card and required child protection screening and clearances.

· Current First Aid certification.

· All legislative and organisational suitability requirements for working within residential child protection.

· Hope & Healing or equivalent Queensland residential care training, or willingness to complete required training.

· Availability to travel throughout the South East Region and undertake reasonable after-hours and on-call responsibilities.

Remuneration & Benefits

From approximately $124,700 per annum + superannuation + generous not-for-profit salary packaging.

Remuneration may be negotiated for candidates with significant relevant experience, qualifications and demonstrated capability.

Hope Support Services also offers:

· Generous not-for-profit salary packaging.

· Permanent full-time employment.

· Mobile phone and technology support.

· Dedicated Finance, Quality, Compliance, Administration and IT support.

· Ongoing career development and training.

· Significant autonomy and responsibility for the operation of your region.

· Support from an experienced Operations Manager and Senior Management Team.

· The opportunity to directly influence the quality and development of residential care services.

· A senior role where your leadership can deliver meaningful outcomes for children and young people.

How to Apply

Please submit your current resume and a cover letter outlining:

· Your relevant residential care and management experience.

· Your experience leading teams within complex human services environments.

· Your understanding of the Queensland child protection and residential care sector.

· Examples of your leadership, accountability and operational management experience.
