About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a Refrigeration Mechanic to join a busy fleet-maintenance workshop and help keep refrigerated transport equipment reliable, safe and operational.

Duties

- Carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance and repairs of refrigeration systems and associated equipment across the transport fleet.
- Diagnose refrigeration faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle and equipment downtime.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and identify potential mechanical or refrigeration issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Work closely with mechanics, trailer specialists and workshop supervisors to ensure refrigerated units are maintained to a high standard.




- Assist with breakdown and on-call support, responding to refrigeration-related issues and helping return equipment to service safely and efficiently.

Skills and experience

- Previous experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic, ideally within transport, heavy-vehicle or fleet-maintenance environments.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability across refrigeration equipment and associated systems.
- Sound mechanical aptitude with the ability to work confidently in a busy workshop environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, compliance, and quality workmanship.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn — the organisation places attitude first and is prepared to provide training where required.

Benefits

- $46–$50 per hour depending on experience
- Penalty rates and double time, including additional payment for breakdown callouts.
