About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join the workshop team working on the fabrication, repair and maintenance of trailers and heavy vehicle equipment.
Duties
- Perform welding, fabrication and repair work on trailers, heavy vehicle components and associated equipment.
- Carry out structural repairs, modifications and general fabrication to maintain the fleet to a high standard.
- Inspect components and identify welding or fabrication requirements before completing repairs.
- Work closely with mechanics and workshop personnel to ensure trailers and fleet equipment are maintained efficiently and safely.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and relevant legislation, including requirements applicable to dangerous goods equipment and transport operations.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience as a Welder / Fabricator, ideally within the transport, trailer, heavy vehicle or related industry.
- Strong MIG welding and general fabrication skills, with the ability to complete quality repairs.
- Experience working with trailers or heavy vehicle equipment will be highly regarded.
- Good understanding of workshop safety, quality standards and safe work practices.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn — attitude is highly valued, with training available for candidates who may need to develop specific skills.
Benefits
- $46–$50 per hour depending on experience
- Penalty rates and double time, including additional payment for breakdown callouts.
