About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a skilled Trailer Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy workshop team specialising in trailer fleet maintenance.

Duties

- Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs across a large commercial trailer fleet.
- Diagnose and repair pneumatic, braking, suspension, electrical and mechanical systems on trailers and heavy vehicles.
- Inspect trailers to identify faults, wear and safety issues and complete repairs to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and operational.
- Work on specialized equipment including dangerous goods tankers and IEBS systems, with training provided where required.




- Respond to breakdowns and urgent mechanical repairs, working as part of a team to minimize vehicle downtime and keep the fleet operating efficiently.

Skills and experience

- Previous experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic or similar, preferably with strong trailer experience.
- Solid knowledge of trailer mechanical systems, pneumatics, suspension and braking systems.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of heavy vehicle safety requirements and relevant legislation, particularly where dangerous goods equipment is involved.
- A positive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn new systems and undertake additional training. Candidates with light vehicle experience who are keen to upskill are also encouraged to apply.
