About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the Learning & Events Management System Implementation project from initiation to closure, ensuring that outcomes meet client requirements, organisational goals, and quality standards. This role leads cross-functional teams, manages resources, liaises across business areas, establishes and manages communication channels with vendors and inhouse technical and business teams, and mitigates risks to achieve successful delivery. The Project Manager ensures effective communication with stakeholders, fosters collaboration across teams, forestalls and resolves resourcing and prioritisation conflicts, and drives continuous improvement in project delivery practices.

Key responsibilities

- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with business and client goals.

- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, communication channels, risk management processes and reporting structures.

- Develop and manage detailed project plans, achieving buy-in on milestones, and tracking progress against timelines, adjusting as necessary.

- Allocate and manage resources, budgets,

and schedules to ensure tasks are completed on time and within cost constraints.

- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring system owners, content owners, developers, testers, designers, and business stakeholders are aligned.

- Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies, applying mitigation strategies and escalating when necessary.

- Conduct regular project meetings (kick-offs, stand-ups, steering committees, retrospectives) to maintain alignment.

- Ensure compliance with organisational delivery standards, methodologies, and quality frameworks.

- Provide transparent reporting to senior management and stakeholders, including budget, schedule, and quality metrics.

- Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and embedding best practices into future projects.

About you

- Undergraduate or graduate qualifications in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, or related field.

- 4–7 years' experience in project management roles within Government, IT or digital services.

- Robust knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and frameworks.

- Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Asana, Trello, MS Project).

- Leadership: Motivates and guides cross-functional teams, resolving conflicts and maintaining momentum.

- Communication: Clearly conveys objectives, priorities, and updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Problem-Solving: Anticipates risks, removes blockers, and develops mitigation strategies.

- Time & Organisation: Manages multiple projects concurrently while balancing competing priorities.

- Strategic Thinking: Aligns project delivery with business outcomes, value realisation, and client satisfaction.
