Pricing Actuary – General Insurance

SKL Executive is partnering with a leading Australian insurer to appoint a Pricing Actuary to support a significant commercial insurance transformation program.

This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your end-to-end pricing expertise within commercial lines and play a key role in delivering modern pricing capability across new systems and platforms.

The Opportunity

This role will act as a subject matter expert on commercial pricing algorithms, supporting the integration of pricing into new pricing and policy administration systems as part of a large-scale digital transformation.

You will combine deep technical pricing knowledge with robust stakeholder collaboration, planning and delivery oversight.

Key Responsibilities
Develop a deep understanding of existing commercial rating algorithms and identify current limitations
Design and specify pricing requirements for new pricing systems, including policy lifecycle considerations, statutory charges and testing requirements
Support pricing planning and contribute to pricing recommendations




Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate translation of pricing requirements
Support system build, testing and sign-off processes
Proactively escalate issues and remove delivery blockages
Partner with broader Pricing teams to enhance pricing data capability and maintain pricing libraries

About You
Minimum 5 years’ experience in General Insurance with strong exposure to end-to-end pricing solutions
Solid knowledge of Commercial Insurance products and key pricing drivers
Understanding of IBNR / IBNER, P&Ls;, reinsurance structures and statutory charges
Understanding of policy lifecycle impacts on premium calculations
Solid planning and time management skills
Adaptable and comfortable working within a transformation environment
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Fellowship qualification (FIAA) or progress toward Fellowship will be viewed favorably but is not essential for experienced pricing professionals.
