As a Support Worker with Shining Star, you will support clients to live as independently and confidently as possible. You will provide person-centred support based on each client's individual needs, preferences and goals.
Key responsibilities
Providing compassionate and respectful one-on-one support
Assisting clients with daily living activities and personal care where required
Supporting clients with community access, appointments and social activities
Assisting with shopping, meal preparation and household tasks
Encouraging independence and supporting clients to achieve their personal goals
Providing companionship and emotional support
Following individual support plans and workplace procedures
Maintaining accurate and professional documentation
Promoting the safety, dignity, rights and wellbeing of every client
Communicating effectively with clients, families and other support professionals
About you
Caring, patient and compassionate
Reliable, punctual and professional
Respectful of people from diverse backgrounds
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Confident communicating with clients, families and other specialists
Flexible and willing to support clients with different needs
Passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives
Previous experience in disability, aged care, community services or support work is highly regarded
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working with Children Check, where applicable
Current First Aid and CPR
Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
