About the role
An entry-level radio journalist position in the newsroom team. This is an prospect to learn from experienced journalists and develop your skills across news gathering, interviewing, writing, audio production and live radio.
Key responsibilities
Finding and developing local, breaking and national news stories
Conducting interviews and gathering audio
Writing and producing radio news stories and bulletins
Monitoring social media, news wires and other sources for breaking news
Working as part of a busy, supportive newsroom
Learning the skills needed to become a confident radio journalist
About you
A journalism, communications or media qualification — or be close to completing one
Solid writing and communication skills
A keen interest in news and current affairs
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
A willingness to learn and take direction
A current driver's licence
