About the role

Trades Assistant in Civil Construction Gas, specializing in supplying Natural Gas to Residential homes and Commercial properties north of Perth. The position is physical and involves manual labour, trench excavation, installation of gas pipes to gas mains, reinstatement of lawns and paved areas, plastic fusion welding, reading and interpreting plans, and identifying and locating underground services. Work begins 5:45am at the office in Malaga, from where you will attend multiple sites throughout the day. Crews consist of 2 or 3 men working with fully equipped Hino trucks equipped with Takeuchi 1.5 ton excavator and 175cfm air compressor.

Key responsibilities
Trench excavation
Installation of gas pipes to gas mains
Reinstatement of lawns and paved areas
Plastic fusion welding
Read and interpret plans
Identify and locate underground services




Work with live natural gas
Attend multiple sites throughout the day in service vehicles

About you
Ability to communicate with the public and clients
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of tools and their application
Ability to read and understand plans and diagrams
Ability to work in a team setting
Ability to follow instructions
Manual truck license advantageous
Current police clearance required
Recent transparent drug and alcohol analysis required
