FIRE & SALT Pty Ltd trading as Catering HQ Nelson Bay is looking for full time Chefs and Cooks for their busy venue at Nelson Bay Bowling Club located at Nelson Bay, Current South Wales.

Nelson Bay Bowling & Recreation Club is a vibrant community-focused venue located along the scenic waters of Port Stephens in Recent South Wales, offering a welcoming space for sport, leisure, and entertainment. With over 50 years of history, the club is popular among both locals and visitors, featuring lawn bowls facilities, social and competitive events, dining options, and function spaces for celebrations and corporate gatherings. Known for its inclusive atmosphere and strong support of local sporting, charity, and community initiatives, the club provides a relaxed environment where people of all ages can connect, unwind, and enjoy a range of activities.

To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at least 2 years' experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
Regulating temperatures of ovens,



grills and other cooking equipment
Preparing, seasoning and cooking food
Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
Robust emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control
Work with the chefs on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
Immaculate presentation and grooming
Ability to handle large service numbers
Above average customer care and service skills
Assist with training our junior team on cooking techniques and procedures
Contribute to planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
