Plant Operator - Byrne Bros Quarries Pty Ltd

Byrne Bros Quarries Pty Ltd is a locally owned and operated quarrying business known for delivering quality products and reliable service. We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Plant Operator to join our team at Cork Road Quarry, Takura.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in the equipment they operate, and wants to be part of a small, versatile team.

About the Role

The Plant Operator is responsible for the secure and efficient operation of quarry plant and equipment, and for supporting the day-to-day production of quality quarry products.

Byrne Bros Quarries is a small company and we require our employees to undertake a wide range of duties. The successful candidate will operate a variety of mobile plant, assist with maintenance activities, and contribute to keeping the site safe, clean and productive.

Key Responsibilities
Safe and efficient operation of quarry plant and equipment including excavators, front end loaders, forklifts and water carts
Excavating, backfilling, levelling and moving earth and other materials
Loading, unloading and stockpiling of quarry products




Operation of the weighbridge and accurate recording of materials sold
Minor plant maintenance including fuelling, fluid levels and greasing, and reporting maintenance requirements
General repairs and maintenance
Complying with all company policies, safety and environmental systems, site procedures and Department of Mines regulations

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Experience operating heavy mobile plant, ideally in quarrying or a similar heavy industry
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Valuable communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a small team

Pre-Employment and Ongoing Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to undertake and pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug and alcohol screening prior to commencing employment.
