About the role

The Orchard Supervisor reports directly to the Orchard Manager and supports the overall supervision of staff and daily farming operations. A key focus of this role is ensuring adherence to WH&S; practices. This is a hands-on position that involves active field work and engagement as well as administrative duties when required.

Key responsibilities
Supervise and train staff and contractors ensuring set work schedules are met within budget and company guidelines
Ensure compliance with all aspects of WH&S; and quality standards
Monitor efficiency targets are being met and operational procedures are being adhered to
Ensure inductions are completed and being adhered to
Participate hands-on in day-to-day farming operations including field work and practical tasks
Deliver toolbox talks to staff as required
Monitor irrigation and oversee the irrigation schedule in conjunction with the Orchard Manager and irrigation staff




Maintain accurate farming records and assist with administrative duties including irrigation records and spray diaries
Report any unsafe work practices, damages to plant, tools or equipment, and any incident, accident or near miss
Demonstrate a high-level understanding of WH&S; practices and lead by example

About you
Minimum 5 years' experience working on a large-scale Orchard or Station
Minimum 2 years' experience working in a similar supervisory role in the horticultural industry
A valid driver's licence
Willingness to participate in any relevant training courses required
Solid communication skills
Ability to foster relationships
Ability to work shift work, weekends and be on call during peak seasons
