Job Description

Position Objective: Provide specialist support to GES in the preparation of soil testing, wastewater assessments, and design.

Primary Duties:

Design, implementation, and completion of field soil sampling programs, including possible intrastate travel.
n
Complete field sampling and testing with hand augers, DCPs, shear vanes, and other testing equipment to collect and analyse soil and rock samples.
n
Accompany GES field staff and drilling rigs on field investigation programs, assisting with sampling, testing, and collection of field data as required.
n
Liaise with clients, tradespeople, and other specialists via email, phone, and in person.
n
Design, preparation, and supervision of specialist testing programs by third-party laboratories, including quality control.
n
Laboratory testing of soil, rock, and sediment samples, and reporting of results as required (basic soil property tests such as Atterberg limits and dispersion).

Maintenance of adequate records of all work performed, client billing information, laboratory records, sampling programs, and any other information relevant to the day-to-day conduct of the business.
n
Technical and scientific reporting of the results of field and laboratory investigations for site/soil classification, wastewater management, wind loading, geotechnical investigations, and environmental assessments to clients and regulatory bodies.
n
Preparation of in office wastewater management designs, including compliance information for residential and commercial developments.
n
Undertake compliance inspections of installed wastewater systems for council certification as required.
n
Attendance at career development courses, conferences, and training as required.
