SOMMELIER NEEDED FOR PREMIUM STEAK RESTAURANT AND BAR

About the Business

Moo Moo The Wine Bar + Grill operates a premium, multi-award-winning steak restaurant and

n

bar located in Broadbeach, Queensland, offering high-end dine-in hospitality services. The

n

restaurant specialises in premium steak selections, curated wines, cocktails and full table service

n

dining.

n

In light of our continued growth within the industry, we are currently seeking an experienced

n

Sommelier to join us to help support business growth and several upcoming large-scale events,

n

and to be responsible for the curation of our wine and other alcoholic beverage matching with our

n

food menu items.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
Recommend dishes and beverages to complement food.
n
Curate wine list and other alcoholic beverage list (including seasonal cocktails), ensuring high standards are met.
n
Supervise and train front of house staff (and, where appropriate, kitchen staff and Chefs) on pairing wines and other alcoholic beverages with menu items.
n
Make and serve beverages (including cocktails).
n




Coordinate reservations, table allocations and ensure smooth service delivery and flow.
n
Open bottles, present and decant wines as necessary.
n
Remove empty bottles and used glasses from tables.
n
Maintain records of stock levels and assist with restocking liquors, and wines in the cellar.
n
Ensure the restaurant and bar comply with health and safety regulations.
n
Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure effective operations and high service standards.
n
Work with suppliers to arrange procurement of specific beverages (particularly wine), adhering to trends and current products.
n

Qualifications/Experience:

n

n
AFQ Certificate III or Certificate IV (relevant experience can substitute for the formal qualifications depending on the candidate)
n
At least 2 to 3 years of industry experience
n
Proven history of working in fine dining establishments and knowledge of wines highly
n
Dedication to working in a protected and effective manner
n

Job Type: Full-time. Applications for this position will be accepted for four weeks.
