The role
The responsibilities of this role will be:
Support theOBM Drive to 300koz+ and beyondthrough underground Resource Conversion, Definition and Exploration drilling, identifying opportunities to increase mine life and improve geological confidence in collaboration with the Project Geologist - Resource.
Support day-to-day underground geology activities and provide operational coverage for the Senior Mine Geologist and Mine Geologists as required.
Undertake geological projects including detailed mapping, data analysis, interpretation, sectional work, wireframing and geological/resource modelling to improve understanding of the deposit and mineralisation controls.
Deliver timely, high-qualityGrade Control modelsaligned with the mine schedule and planning requirements.
Plan, schedule and superviseGrade Control drilling programs, coordinate underground drill sites and contractors, and drive rig utilisation and drilling performance.
Analyse completed drilling programs and document key geological findings,
outcomes and recommendations to support future drilling and mine planning.
Complete3MS reviews and rolling 12-month geological de-riskingof scheduled stoping areas, identifying data gaps and geological risks ahead of mining.
Support development and stope performance through geological input intostope design, Stope Notes and inspections, with a focus on maximising recovery and minimising dilution.
Complete Stope Note geology requirements within agreed timeframes.
Ensure capital and ore development is appropriatelymapped, sampled and interpreted, with key geological contacts and features communicated and marked up for Survey and Mining.
Champion high-qualitystructural data collectionfrom development mapping and drill core, incorporating structural information into 3D geological interpretations and working with specialist consultants where required.
SupportQA/QC and geological data qualityacross drilling, sampling, sample preparation, assay and production datasets, including monitoring laboratory performance and trends.
Assist withend-of-month reconciliation, production analysis and identification of reconciliation trends and opportunities for improvement.
Contribute to accurate and timelydaily, weekly and monthly geological reporting, ensuring key geological risks, opportunities and operational outcomes are clearly communicated.
Work collaboratively with Geology, Mining, Engineering, Survey, Geotechnical and drilling teams to continually improve geological understanding,
operational performance and delivery of the mine plan.
About you
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Tertiary qualification Bachelor Science (Geology) or equivalent from a recognised institution
Minimum 3-5 years' mine geology experience (underground, gold)
Member AIG, AusIMM or similar
Skilled in mining software - Leapfrog, Deswik
Exposure to current grade control technologies and practices
Excellent time management to achieve project outcomes
Demonstrable team working skills
Good communication skills
Awareness of the Workplace Health and Safety Act & Regulations
ERT experience and willingness to join OBM's ERT is preferred
Class C WA manual driver's licence
Current First Aid certificate
