The Opportunity
ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with an established South Australian residential builder with a strong reputation for delivering quality homes and developments across Adelaide.
With a healthy pipeline and continued growth ahead, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator who can take ownership of the estimating function and play an influential role across pre-construction and project delivery.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply producing estimates.
You will work closely with senior leadership, construction teams, suppliers and trades, using your residential construction knowledge to drive accurate costing, improve processes and support the commercial performance of the business.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you will manage estimating across projects from initial pricing through to construction, ensuring costs are accurate, commercially considered and aligned with project requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing detailed estimates, take-offs and cost plans for residential projects
Managing project pricing from preliminary stages through to final construction estimates
Preparing scopes of work and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations
Managing tender packages and negotiating competitive trade pricing




Reviewing plans, specifications and documentation to identify cost implications
Completing variations and maintaining accurate project cost information
Working closely with construction and pre-construction teams to ensure smooth project handover
Building robust relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and key stakeholders
Identifying opportunities for value management, cost efficiencies and process improvement
Supporting and mentoring junior estimating team members where required
The Like Mind
You will be an experienced residential Estimator with strong construction knowledge and the confidence to take ownership of your workload.
Ideally, you will bring:
5+ years' estimating experience within residential construction
Strong understanding of residential building methodology, materials and trade packages
Proven experience completing take-offs, BOQs, tendering and cost planning
Strong supplier and subcontractor relationships
High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail
Confidence working closely with construction teams and senior management
The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
A proactive mindset and willingness to contribute ideas beyond the traditional estimating function
This role would suit an Estimator ready to step into a more senior and influential position, or an established Senior Estimator looking for greater autonomy within a builder where their contribution will be recognised.
