Regional Development Australia (RDA) Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains (BGLAP)is a non-government, non-profit organisation dedicated to driving sustainable economic growth and community development across one of Adelaides most vibrant regions.
The RDA has extensive collaboration with local, state and federal government, business, industries and communities to create opportunities and enhance the liveability of the region.
Spanning the Barossa, Gawler, Light and Adelaide plans area, this iconic region is identified by the State Government as a key growth area, offering significant opportunities for business, investors and new residents.
The region is noted for its agribusiness (wine, food and agriculture), tourism, manufacturing and residential growth corridors.
Reporting to a skills-based Board, the CEO (Director of Regional Development) leads a team delivering a range of initiatives supporting and facilitating economic development and growth in the Region while building and maintaining strong working relationships and partnerships with major stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:




Leading the delivering of the strategic plan key outcomes
Working collaboratively with all tiers of government and regional private enterprise
Consulting with stakeholders and advocacy supporting regional economic growth
Actively promoting the region as a location to invest and grow business
Developing and delivering creative programs to meet the region's needs
Working proactively and cooperatively with the Board delivering information, advice and effective governance
Building sustainable strategic partnerships.
This diverse role requires an experienced professional with a proven background in economic development, advocacy and working with all tiers of government and industry partners.
Skills include strategic thinking, innovation, strong analytic ability, change management, excellent verbal and written communication and productive leadership.
Tertiary qualifications in business or related field are essential.
The RDA Offices are located at Nuriootpa, an hour north of Adelaide, and flexible work arrangements may be negotiated.
