Position InformationAt James Busby High School we foster a harmonious school culture that focuses on life-long learning, collaboration and inclusivity.

JBHS is a diverse and inclusive co-educational comprehensive high school located in south-west Sydney with an enrolment of 540.
Our student body is multi-cultural, with 81% of our students coming from a language background other than English and 7% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Our school includes a large Special Education Unit comprising 10 classes supporting students with a variety of additional needs including mild to moderate intellectual disability and autism.
We are committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning through a strong commitment to excellence and equity.
Underpinning our commitment are our extensive student support structures, our position as a HPGE partner school and a whole school approach to trauma-informed practice.
Specific Selection Criteria Approval to teachSpecial Education and/or experience teaching students with autism, mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, with a robust commitment to and passion for inclusive education.
Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate differentiated learning experiences to maximise engagement and learning growth.
Well developed communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build positive partnerships with students, families, carers, school staff and external agencies to improve student outcomes.
Demonstrated successful classroom management with flexible and adaptive strategies that create a positive learning environment, authentic relationships, and enable each individual's success.
ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
