About the Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
You will provide strong leadership to site teams and subcontractors while building positive relationships with clients, consultants, Traditional Owners, and local communities.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading all site-based construction activities from mobilisation through to completion
Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with HSE requirements
Managing subcontractors, suppliers, labour resources and site logistics
Monitoring and maintaining project programmes and key milestones
Ensuring quality standards are achieved and defects are minimised
Coordinating trade interfaces and construction sequencing
Managing site administration, records and reporting requirements
Building positive relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams
Mentoring and developing Site Supervisors and emerging construction professionals
Supporting Barpa's commitment to Indigenous employment, procurement and community engagement
About You
Essential
8+ years' experience in commercial construction, ideally in a Site Manager or Senior Supervisor capacity
Experience delivering commercial, government, education, health, community or mixed-use projects
Strong leadership and people management skills
Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades
Comprehensive knowledge of construction sequencing, quality assurance and site safety requirements
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to identify risks early and drive practical solutions
Relevant construction qualification, trade qualification, or extensive industry experience
Strong computer literacy, including demonstrated proficiency in the MS Office Suite and ability to effectively use construction management, safety and quality software
