Job Description
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a large, established organisation in a permanent position.
n
Based in Brisbane, this is a broad, hands-on role with exposure across financial reporting, statutory compliance, month-end, audit and balance sheet management.
n
Working closely with senior finance leaders and stakeholders across the broader business, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting within a complex corporate environment. The underlying position has a strong focus on statutory and group reporting, balance sheet ownership and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
n
Take ownership of month-end activities, including journals, reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
n
Support the annual external audit process and respond to audit requirements.
n
Assist with regular corporate and group reporting.
n
Maintain strong balance sheet controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
n
Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, working closely with AP, AR and other finance functions.
n
Support treasury accounting activities, including foreign exchange and hedge accounting where required.
n
Assist with technical accounting matters and changes to accounting standards.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement across financial controls, processes and reporting.
n

About You
n
You will be a technically strong financial accountant who enjoys taking ownership of your work and operating within a large, fast-paced environment.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
CA or CPA qualification with a degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
n
Strong financial accounting experience, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation.
n
Sound knowledge of IFRS/Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements.
n
Strong experience across month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, journals and external audit.
n
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to confidently work through complex accounting matters.
n
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across finance and the broader business.
n
A proactive approach to process improvement and strengthening financial controls.
n
SAP, Hyperion or similar large ERP experience would be advantageous.
n
