Seeking an experienced Finance Officer with experience working across complex projects ready for a current role. We are seeking a Finance Project Officer to support the financial operations and administration of a diverse portfolio of projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance or project professional who enjoys working across project controls, cost management, reporting, and stakeholder coordination in a fast-paced environment.

Based in Canberra, you will work closely with project teams, finance professionals, and key business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data, strong project governance, and effective project performance reporting.

Your new role Reporting to the Project Management Office, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery through accurate financial and project cost control activities.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Establishing and maintaining project financial records and cost structures
n
Processing project setup, amendments, and closure activities
n
Managing project cost allocations and labour cost coding
n
Supporting timesheet processing, reconciliation, and error resolution
n
Monitoring and maintaining project financial data integrity
n
Processing project-related expense adjustments and transfers
n
Assisting with project reporting and performance data management
n
Liaising with project managers, corporate finance teams, and stakeholders to resolve queries and improve processes
n
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
n
n
What you'll need to succeed
n
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
n
n
Previous experience in project finance, project cost controls, or financial coordination
n
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
n
Experience working with finance systems, ERP platforms, or project management tools
n
Solid analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
A proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset
n
Qualifications in Finance, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline will be highly regarded
n
The preferred candidate will hold an AGSVA recognised Baseline security clearance or higher
n
