We are looking for an experienced Systems Operations Engineer to support, optimise and evolve our core systems, platforms and cloud services.
n
This is a hands‐on role focused on maintaining high system performance, minimising downtime and ensuring operational excellence across a complex IT estate. You'll act as a senior technical resolver, supporting day‐to‐day operations while contributing to continuous improvement, system design and operational projects.
n
You'll work closely with Service Desk, Desktop Support, project teams and third‐party suppliers, taking ownership of issues through to resolution and ensuring services are secure, resilient and well‐documented.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide expert support and optimisation for core systems, platforms and cloud services
n
Act as an escalation point for complex system incidents and problems, owning issues through to resolution
n
Analyse existing systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance, resilience and efficiency
n
Author and maintain high‐quality technical documentation covering current and future system designs
n
Ensure systems are maintained, patched and updated in line with best practice
n
Meet SLAs for support, request fulfilment and change delivery
n
Support operational projects, owning assigned tasks and deliverables
n




Ensure systems are secure by design and compliant with organisational policies
n
Produce reports and audits to evidence effective system management
n

About you
n
n
Strong experience supporting Microsoft Cloud environments, including M365, Azure and Active Directory
n
Experience with cloud and SaaS platforms, including security, identity, email and collaboration services
n
Knowledge of on‐premises infrastructure including Windows Server, VMware and storage technologies
n
Methodical, analytical and highly organised
n
Comfortable working under broad direction and taking ownership of complex issues
n
Strong communicator able to work effectively with technical and non‐technical stakeholders
n
Proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous learning and improvement
n
