Position Information
Chifley College Shalvey Campus is a comprehensive 7-10 campus of the Chifley Collegiate, situated in Mount Druitt in Western Sydney.
The school is regarded as an inclusive, stable and caring school with Safe and Respectful Learning as our core values.
Our curriculum is geared to promote academic success and positive life outcomes for every student.
The campus has excellent facilities, including gymnasium, fitness laboratory, covered basketball court, sports oval, agriculture farm, sound recording studio, dance and drama studio and Science Technology Engineering Mathematics room.
Information and Communication Technologies are integrated across the curriculum.
The current enrolment of the school population is 400.
Our students include 37% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 22% having English as an Additional Language or Dialect, the majority from Pacific Nations.The campus has a Support Unit which caters for 56 students, with three Autism Spectrum Disorder and two Mild Intellectual Disability classes.
In **** the unit will be further expanded with an additional 2 Multi-Categorical classes.

working closely with parents and community partners to provide quality teaching and learning and enhanced wellbeing for every student.
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.
In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Demonstrated capacity to lead high-quality, evidence-informed teaching and learning in Science with deep knowledge of syllabus implementation, explicit teaching, differentiation, and the use of data to improve outcomes for diverse learners.
2. Proven ability to build teacher capacity through instructional leadership, mentoring and the design and delivery of high-impact skilled learning.
This includes leading collaborative practices such as data-informed planning and ensuring consistent, effective classroom practice across the faculty.
3. Demonstrated organisational and leadership skills to lead effective faculty systems.
This includes developing scope and sequences, assessment schedules, resource management, and contributing to whole-school systems aligned to NESA and DoE requirements.
4. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to work collaboratively as part of the executive team.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and the community, and contribute strategically to an inclusive, trauma-informed, high-performing school culture.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3.



Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
