About the role

Ventia have a contract supporting the maintenance of the Millmerran Power Station and Skout Solutions are seeking Mechanical Fitters to assist for 8 weeks (10.5 hrs work per day) on a Shutdown in the Coal Ash Handling plant of the Millmerran Power Station starting 14th September. You will work 5 days per week across atleast 52.5 hours per week with an additional Weekly rural allowance paid of $****** paid per Week worked aswell as $29 tool allowance.

Hourly rate of $***** per hour plus OT paid after 42 hours worked in the week (from 5th day onwards) of $117 for the first 2 hours and $125 thereafter.

Opportunity to work on a power station, experience in the resources industry not essential but heavy plant experience is preferred.

Possibility of more shutdown or longer term work within the business

Accommodation provided if necessary in Jeffries Motel Toowoomba and travel provided to and from Toowoomba each day.

Duties include but are not limited to:
n
n
Work with TAs and other tradesmen to achieve plant performance across various maintenance jobs during outage;
n
Removal and replacement of spools, rollers, wear plates.
n
Parent metal repairs.
n
Replacement of guards.
n
General fabrication works.
n
Complete minor plant isolation and operation.
n
n
Applicants must possess:
n
n
Working at heights is essential. Confined spaces is preferred.
n
Experience with Heavy plant maintenance is preferred
n
Trade Qualification (Mechanical)
n
A respirator fit test will be conducted onsite- successful applicants must be clean-shaven for use of the respirator.
n

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Current drivers licence and white card
