About the Role

Mechanics Recruitment, on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking an experienced Senior Workshop Manager to lead a state-of-the-art tanker repair facility in Western Australia. This is a rare opportunity to manage one of WAs most advanced heavy vehicle workshops, specialising in bulk liquid tanker maintenance and repair.

This high-level leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong expertise in mechanical servicing, fabrication, workshop operations, and compliance standards. Youll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the workshop, driving efficiency, ensuring industry-leading safety and compliance, and leading a highly skilled team.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Oversee all aspects of tanker repairs, servicing, and maintenance
n
Lead and mentor supervisors, technicians, and fabricators to ensure peak performance
n
Manage workshop scheduling, production planning,
and labour allocation
n
Oversee budgeting, job costing, and financial performance
n
Ensure strict compliance with industry standards, including AS****, OH&S;, and heavy vehicle modification regulations
n
Drive a safety-first culture and enforce OH&S; best practices
n
Implement process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
n
Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring service excellence and strong stakeholder relationships
n
n
What Youll Need to Succeed
n
n
5+ years experience in a senior mechanical or fabrication workshop management role
n
Proven leadership skills Ability to manage large teams and complex projects
n
Expertise in heavy vehicle repairs, mechanical servicing, and fabrication (bulk liquid tanker knowledge highly desirable)
n
Robust financial acumen Budgeting, job costing, and cost control experience
n
Hands‐on experience with scheduling, production planning, and workforce management
n
Technical knowledge of AS****, OH&S;, and heavy vehicle modification standards
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/job tracking software
n
A strong safety mindset and a thorough understanding of compliance regulations
n
