The Role
n
Student Ambassadors are carefully selected representatives of Macquarie University. As the face of the University for prospective students, ambassadors are chosen for their communication skills, professionalism,
leadershippotentialand
engagement with university life.
n
We'relooking for current Macquarie University students who make the most of their university experience and are excited to share it with others. Whetheryou'vebeen involved in student clubs or societies, sport, mentoring, leadership programs, volunteering, PACE,
internships,exchangeor
other university initiatives,we'dlove to hear howyou'vecontributed to campus life.

Depending on your interests and experience, you may have opportunities to feature in university marketing campaigns, videos,
publications,andsocial
media content. The main activities you would be performing as a student ambassador include:
n

Sharing your Macquarie story through presentations, webinars and conversations with future
students,parentsand
teachers
n
Helping future students navigate their options and make confident decisions about university study
n
Contributing to social media content and digital campaigns that inspire future students to see themselves at Macquarie
n
Capturingprospective
student details (leads) at student recruitment events and activities.
n
RepresentingMacquarie
Universityatcareersmarkets,
expos and other major events including those hosted by faculties or other Macquarie departments
n
Conductingtours of the Macquarie University campus
n




Providingevent supportincluding set up, registration and other activities for in-person and online recruitment activities
n
Conducting
outboundtelephonecallingto
prospective students or other stakeholders
n
Supportingthe Future Students team with administrative& office tasksasrequired
n
Handling ofboxes of approximately 10kgon a regular basis
n
DrivingUniversity vehicles in a safe manner to various student recruitment events (on and off campus).
n
n
To perform well in this role, you will need to be approachable, proactive, adaptable, confident inpresenting toa wide range of audiences and willing to go the extra mile. Many of our Student Ambassadors have gone on to secure competitive graduate positions across consulting, government, education,
health,technologyand
finance.
Alumnifrequentlyidentifytheir
ambassador experience as one of the most valuable opportunities for developing
confidence,communicationand
leadership skills.
