Operations Manager – Timber Manufacturing

UBEECO Packaging Solutions is seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead our growing timber manufacturing operation and play a key role in shaping the next stage of our business.
n
UBEECO is a proudly Australian industrial packaging manufacturer, supplying tailored timber crates, pallets, cases and protective packaging solutions to clients across mining, defence, logistics and other industrial sectors.
n
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for the overall performance of the business, including P&L;, manufacturing operations, sales performance, customer growth, people leadership and continuous improvement.

About the Role
n
As General Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the business, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional customer outcomes while achieving sustainable growth and strong financial performance.
n
You will be responsible for:
n
Full P&L; ownership and commercial performance of the business
n
Developing and executing strategies to drive revenue, profitability and sustainable growth
n
Leading and overseeing the Sales function, including sales strategy, pipeline development, customer acquisition and retention
n
Identifying new markets, customers and commercial opportunities to expand the business
n
Building strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners
n
Leading,



coaching and developing a high-performing leadership team
n
Overseeing manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, efficiency and on-time delivery
n
Driving LEAN manufacturing principles and a culture of continuous improvement
n
Reviewing operational and financial performance and implementing initiatives to improve margins and productivity
n
Ensuring production capacity, resources and workforce planning align with business growth
n
Developing clear performance expectations, KPIs and accountability across the business
n
Working closely with the Managing Director to develop and execute the company's strategic direction
n
Driving a positive workplace culture built on communication, trust, accountability and high performance
n
Leading change and ensuring the business is positioned for continued growth
n
What You Bring
n
Leadership & Commercial Capability
n
Proven experience in a senior management or General Management role
n
Robust commercial acumen with demonstrated experience managing P&L; and business performance
n
Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that deliver revenue and profit growth
n
Experience leading and developing a Sales function




n
Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
n
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‐on operational leadership
n
A proactive, solutions‐focused mindset with strong analytical and problem‐solving capability
n
Manufacturing Experience
n
Significant experience in manufacturing is essential
n
Timber manufacturing experience is highly desirable and will be strongly regarded
n
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, productivity, quality and cost management
n
Demonstrated understanding and practical application of LEAN principles and continuous improvement
n
Experience leading operational change and improving business performance
n
Strong understanding of workforce planning, production capacity and resource management
n
Proven ability to inspire, influence and engage teams
n
Strong emotional intelligence and a genuine people‐first leadership style
n
Demonstrated capability in performance management, coaching and developing leaders
n
Ability to create a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance
n
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid relationships at all levels
n
Tertiary qualifications in business, manufacturing, management or a related discipline are desirable, or equivalent senior leadership experience.
