Summary:
We are seeking applications from experienced teachers and graduates for this part-time 0.7FTE Teacher of Home Economics with the ability to teach both Food Science and Textiles and Design.
This role is crucial in delivering high-quality middle and senior years education in accordance with curriculum requirements.
The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated and committed team and play a key role in shaping the future of our students and promoting a passion for food science and textiles and design.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging and innovative lesson plans that meet food science curriculum requirements
Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration through differentiation.




Maintain current knowledge of the latest trends and developments in food science and textiles and design education.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to co-curricula activities and events.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding student performance and curriculum updates.
Qualifications and Experience:
Appropriate teaching qualifications and eligibility for registration with TRBWA.
Demonstrated experience teaching Food Science/Textiles and Design across all secondary years and ability to teach ATAR food science is highly advantageous.
Proven experience creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that support student wellbeing and achievement.
High level interpersonal, student engagement and communication skills
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Experience teaching textiles will be well regarded.
Commitment to continuous career development.
Strong proficiency in the use of contemporary digital technologies to support teaching and learning.
