The Team
Main Theatres at the Royal Hobart Hospital is a dynamic perioperative service comprising 14 operating theatres and supporting a broad range of surgical specialties.
The service delivers complex elective and emergency surgical care, including highly specialised and tertiary-level procedures.
Working within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment, the CNE - Transition to Practice plays a key role in supporting clinical excellence, workforce capability and growth of future generation of perioperative nurses.
The Role
The role of the Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is to facilitate and support the development of the perioperative nursing workforce, including students, by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs related to perioperative nursing practice.
You will need
Ability to apply teaching and learning strategies in the perioperative clinical area, including the development, implementation and evaluation of professional development, education and training activities and programs.
Ability to apply facilitation skills, learning and evaluation strategies in the clinical context,



to further the development of a person-centred culture including the implementation and evaluation of professional development, education and training activities and programs.
Sound knowledge of contemporary education, health and professional development issues and their impact on the knowledge and skill requirements of the perioperative nursing workforce.
Details of appointment
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for up period up to twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement ****.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
