Position Information
Sussex Inlet Public School is a welcoming, inclusive primary school with 280 students across 12 classes from Kindergarten to Year 6, including 17% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
The school is committed to providing every student with a strong foundation for learning, wellbeing, and future success.

The school has a particular focus on strengthening literacy and numeracy outcomes, formative assessment, student voice and agency and building staff capacity through collaborative professional learning.
The Assistant Principal will be an integral member of the school executive team, working collaboratively with staff, students, families, and the wider community to lead school improvement and support high-quality teaching and learning.
The role provides an prospect for a highly relational and strategic leader to contribute to a positive school culture and make a meaningful difference for students.




Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
Demonstrated expertise in leading high-quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs, using data to identify needs, monitor progress, inform teaching practice and drive improved outcomes for all learners.
Proven ability to build the capacity of teachers through coaching, mentoring, feedback and collaborative professional practice, fostering high-performing teams and developing leadership capability and shared responsibility for student success.
Demonstrated ability to lead a positive, inclusive and equitable school culture characterised by a commitment to improving the participation, engagement and outcomes of every student.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as a member of an executive team, balance the complex responsibilities of teaching and school leadership and build authentic, respectful and productive relationships with staff, students, families and the wider community.
General Selection Criteria
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching, and learning programs




Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
