We are seeking aSenior Aboriginal Family
PractitionerorAboriginal
Family Practitionerto join ourKeswickteam. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your cultural knowledge and professional expertise to make a meaningful difference to Aboriginal children and families through responsive and inclusive child protection practice within the DCP Call Centre.

This is asingle vacancy offered under a dual classification. The successful applicant will be appointed at the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.
n
A degree level qualification inSocial Workwhich gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
n
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Qualified roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).

As a Senior Aboriginal Family Practitioner, you will:
n
Lead culturally responsive support and intervention for Aboriginal families with complex needs
n
Work with families to identify concerns and develop pathways to positive outcomes
n
Contribute to service evaluation, improvement and the development of new approaches
n
Develop innovative and culturally appropriate approaches to service delivery.
n
As an Aboriginal Family Practitioner, you will:
n




Receive information and contribute to assessments of child protection concerns involving Aboriginal families
n
Deliver culturally appropriate guidance to families, notifiers and professionals
n
Build strong relationships with Aboriginal families, communities and key stakeholders
n
Provide culturally informed advice and support to departmental staff.
n
We are looking for someone who brings:
n
Strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture, communities and culturally responsive practice
n
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
n
The ability to manage competing priorities and solve complex problems
n
Knowledge of child development, crisis intervention and managing risk in statutory or community settings.
n
For appointment at theSenior Aboriginal Family
Practitionerclassification,
you will also demonstrate the ability to lead service development, provide specialist advice and support colleagues and stakeholders.

Salary:

AHP2$94,997 - $110,052 /AHP1$73,710 - $89,981 p.a. + 12% super
n +4% child protection allowance
n +Professional Development Allowance
n

AHP2positions are also entitled to claim reimbursement of eligible professional development expenses through the Professional Development Allowance.
