We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team!

What you'll be doing?
Preparing tax returns and financial statements
— Managing the preparation of tax returns and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and SMSFs across a diverse client base.
Compliance and reporting obligations
— Preparing Payroll Tax, BAS, FBT, and SGC returns accurately and in accordance with legislative requirements.
Tax planning and advisory
— Providing considered tax planning advice and strategic guidance to support clients in achieving the best possible financial outcomes.
Reviewing and lodging returns
— Reviewing the work of team members and lodging returns with the ATO to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality across all submissions.
Supporting junior staff
— Mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Client and ATO liaison
— Maintaining professional and proactive communication with clients and the ATO to manage queries, resolve issues, and build lasting relationships.
Who are we looking for?
Professional accounting qualifications
— IPA, CPA, or CA qualification is preferred and will be highly regarded in the selection process.
Practice experience
— A solid background in a small to medium accounting practice with a proven track record across taxation and compliance work is essential.
Software proficiency
— Experience with Handisoft and MYOB and/or Xero is essential for this role.
Taxation knowledge
— A strong and current understanding of key taxation legislation and regulations across individual, trust, company, partnership, and SMSF structures.
Communication skills
— Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service focus and the ability to engage professionally with clients and stakeholders.
Attention to detail
— A high level of accuracy and attention to detail across all aspects of tax preparation, review, and reporting.
Organisational ability
— Excellent planning, time management, and organisational skills to manage a varied workload effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
Autonomous and collaborative
— The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a close‐knit team environment.
