About the role
The Consultant is responsible for the provision of high-quality inpatient, outpatient and community based Paediatric Rehabilitation.
The Consultant is responsible for ensuring that clients' functional levels are restored or managed using evidence based best practice.
Key duties of the role
Provision of high standard clinical services to patients using evidence based practice
Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate training in the discipline of paediatric rehabilitation services
Contribution to advances in knowledge in the specialty
Encourage and foster a positive culture and safe work environment
Participating in quality management, quality assurance and risk management activities and ongoing improvement of services
Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualifications as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
Previous experience working in large public hospitals and community settings
Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and mediation skills
Knowledge of contemporary paediatric rehabilitation, public hospital practices, OH&S; and quality management
WCHN employees may be required to undertake work at various locations in metropolitan Adelaide and provide outreach to other parts of South Australia and the Northern Territory.The applicant would need to have FAFRM or equivalent, and be registerable in Australia.
