Position Information
Wyndham College is located in Nirimba Fields on the Nirimba Education Precinct.
Our student enrolment is 400 students and growing.
It is a comprehensive senior high school in the Nirimba Collegiate with Quakers Hill, Riverstone and Seven Hills high schools.
We have an Inclusive Education unit consisting of two classes and the school owns and operates a hospitality trade school called Tradewynds.
Wyndham College has a reputation for providing high-quality education and attracts many students from non-government schools.
We provide a broad range of education options for Year 11 and 12 students, supported by extensive well-being and support programs.
Our teachers are experts in HSC curriculum.
We enjoy the support of our diverse community and have fostered strong partnerships with parents, wider school community and our education and business partners.
The role of the Learning and Support teacher at Wyndham College will be to work with staff, students, and families to support the learning and engagement of students across varied pathways within a Stage 6 curriculum.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach students with learning and support needs secondary and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs secondary in regular classes,
with capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needed and their teachers.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, executive staff, SLSOs, parents/caregivers and external agencies as part of a whole‐school Learning and Support Team.
Understanding of a wide range of curriculum and ability to work collaboratively to support student engagement and achievement
Knowledge and capacity to collaboratively plan, implement, monitor and evaluate personalised learning and support plans for students with a range of learning needs that support improved educational outcomes and future pathways.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching prospect.
