About the Role...
Are you an experienced event operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys delivering exceptional event experiences?
Sydney Showground is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Floor Manager to coordinate and oversee the successful delivery of events across our world-class venue precinct.
As the primary on-site contact for clients during events, you will be responsible for ensuring client requirements are met while maintaining Sydney Showground's high standards of presentation, safety and service delivery.
Working closely with clients, contractors, event staff and internal departments, you will coordinate venue operations including event setup, crowd management, ticketing, patron movement, signage, contractor activities and venue presentation.
You will identify and resolve operational issues,



facilitate event requirements and ensure services are delivered efficiently and safely.
The role also plays an important part in maintaining Workplace Health and Safety standards, monitoring compliance, managing risks and protecting the interests of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, its guests and its assets.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems and remaining calm under pressure.
Due to the nature of the events industry, flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays is essential.
About you...
You are a highly organised and customer-focused professional with experience in venue operations, event delivery or customer service management.
You enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders and take pride in delivering exceptional event experiences.
You are a natural communicator, thrive in dynamic environments and can confidently manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Tertiary qualification in Venue Management, Event Management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
Current Class C Driver's Licence
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven customer service and stakeholder management skills
Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
Robust organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Negotiation, problem-solving and conflict‐resolution skills




Ability to build productive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams
Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite
A commitment to delivering outstanding service and event outcomes
Desirable:
Previous experience in venue operations, event management or customer service supervision
Experience working on major events
Ushering, crowd management or front‐of‐house experience
Experience supervising casual staff or contractors
Experience using Momentus (formerly Ungerboeck) Event Business Management System
Knowledge of venue operations and event infrastructure
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
Senior First Aid Certificate
Fire Warden certification
