About the Role
JBS Pork Australia – Farming Team is currently recruiting a Technical Officer to support the team based at our Huntly site.
This full-time position will be responsible for collecting research data in the areas of nutrition, behaviour, welfare, health, reproduction, genetics and meat quality.
Key Responsibilities




Coordinate and conduct livestock research
Undertake daily animal husbandry tasks including feeding, live weight assessment and monitoring of animal health and welfare
Compliance with research protocol guidelines, animal welfare and ethics and WHS
Accurately capture research data
Willingness to participate in travel to other sites to perform duties as reasonably required.
Skills & Experience
Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science (or related field), or experience in animal research/animal production
Previous livestock experience
A positive attitude with an interest in animal research, production and recent technology
Effective communication & organisational skills as well a desire to work in a team environment.
Intermediate computer skills
A sound degree of fitness to cope with the physical nature of the position
A preparedness to work flexible hours
A current Driver's Licence
