Position Information
Tallawong High School is a new school in Sydney's north west growth corridor, Dharug Ngurra (Country).
The school will open with Stage 4 in ****, growing to full capacity for **** students and the first Year 12 cohort in ****.
The school has end-of-trip facilities for staff and is close to public transport.
This role is to commence Week 6 Term ******, November 16, in line new build timelines.
All foundation staff will contribute to a range of complex challenges in establishing a recent school, including systems, processes and a culture of excellence.
Our school has close links with local primary schools, particularly Schofields Public School and Tallawong Public School, with a culturally and linguistically diverse community.
An innovative Aboriginal Education Cultural Hub will be established on-site, in partnership with the local AECG and local knowledge holders,



and this will inform our central commitment to Aboriginal education across all aspects of our school.
As part of our foundation team, Tallawong High School Teachers will help to build the learning, behaviour and wellbeing structures to ensure we are the first-choice school for families in our local enrolment area.
Together we will create a dynamic learning community with rigorous focus on academic excellence through evidence-informed pedagogy, inclusive practice, authentic HPGE programs, university connections, local community links, and a rich program of extra-curricular activities.
Student wellbeing structures will focus on high-expectations relationships and trauma-informed practice to ensure students can unleash their full potential through holistic care and support.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach secondary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in teacher librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Capacity to manage library operations and systems, including Oliver, while leading information literacy, digital research skills, and the ethical use of information.
Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and flexibly with teaching staff to drive our culture of excellence.




Capacity to create a library environment that welcomes and supports all students through the curation of resources and activities to draw students in and encourage them to thrive.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
