About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced healthcare leader to join St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne as the HIP ARC Manager on a six-month, full time fixed-term basis.
In this senior leadership role, you will lead a agile portfolio of integrated healthcare services focused on improving patient outcomes across hospital and community settings.
You will provide strategic and operational leadership to multidisciplinary teams across our Fitzroy, Kew and Fairfield sites, driving clinical excellence, service development and continuous improvement.
Working collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders, you will support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while strengthening integrated models of care across the Health Independence Program (HIP).
Providing strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of Health Independence Program services
Leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams across Fitzroy, Kew and Fairfield
Driving service development, innovation and continuous quality improvement
Promoting high standards of clinical governance, safety and person-centred care
Supporting the delivery and ongoing development of integrated models of care across hospital and community settings
Leading workforce planning, performance and development to support high-performing and engaged teams
Managing operational budgets and resources effectively
Leading and supporting organisational and service change initiatives
Building solid collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Contributing to broader HIP and organisational priorities that improve patient outcomes, hospital flow and continuity of care
Your Contribution
You are an experienced and influential healthcare leader with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through a complex and evolving healthcare environment.
You will bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health or Nursing, with current AHPRA registration where applicable
Postgraduate qualifications and/or demonstrated specialist expertise in a relevant field
Demonstrated leadership experience within acute, subacute, rehabilitation and/or community healthcare settings
Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams
Strong knowledge of integrated models of care, clinical governance, quality improvement and contemporary rehabilitation service delivery
Demonstrated experience in change management, service development and continuous improvement
Strong workforce management and performance leadership capabilities
Experience managing budgets, resources and operational priorities
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
The ability to provide strategic direction while effectively managing day-to-day operational requirements

About the Health Independence Program (HIP)
The Health Independence Program (HIP) delivers integrated and coordinated care across hospital and community settings to improve client outcomes, support hospital flow and provide seamless, person-centred care.
HIP brings together multidisciplinary services to support people with complex healthcare needs, with a strong focus on improving independence, reducing avoidable hospital presentations and ensuring effective transitions between hospital and community-based care.
This leadership position oversees teams across all three HIP sites – Fitzroy, Kew and Fairfield – and requires a regular presence at each location.

Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and management to multidisciplinary teams across HIP services
Oversee the delivery of effective and responsive rehabilitation and specialist clinic services
Manage services including HIP Central Triage, rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, Continence, CDAMS, Geriatric Medicine Clinic and Falls and Balance Clinics
Provide clinical governance and oversight of clinical risk, quality, client outcomes and service effectiveness
Provide leadership, professional support and direction to Team Leaders
Lead workforce management activities including recruitment, performance development, leave planning and staff compliance requirements
Manage operational budgets, monitor financial performance and support achievement of budget targets
Identify and implement service improvements, efficiencies and innovations
Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and service evaluation activities
Monitor activity targets and clinical and non-clinical performance measures
Support staff education, professional development and clinical supervision
Manage escalated complaints and complex clinical matters




Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, community partners and local healthcare providers
Support effective resource allocation and coordination across sites and services.
About You
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Allied Health or Nursing that meets relevant AHPRA registration requirements
A relevant postgraduate qualification
Current AHPRA registration, where applicable
Professional association membership or eligibility
Demonstrated knowledge of Health Independence Program principles of care
Advanced knowledge of contemporary rehabilitation and therapy service delivery
Knowledge of acute, subacute and community healthcare sectors
Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary teams
Strong leadership and clinical decision-making capabilities
Highly developed communication, interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills
Experience in performance management, complex conflict resolution and change management
Experience in budget planning and management
Demonstrated ability to improve clinical outcomes through evidence-based change and service improvement
Experience in service delivery across multiple sites, including working towards and achieving performance targets
Knowledge of continuous quality improvement, relevant clinical standards and industrial agreements
An understanding of relevant government policy and health reform initiatives.
