Position: Electrician Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Norwest Business Park NSW **** Our client is seeking an Electrician to join their team located in Norwest, New South Wales.
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with approved plans, relevant Australian Standards, safety requirements and applicable electrical regulations.
The role may include work on residential, commercial and industrial electrical installations, including solar photovoltaic (PV) power-generation systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Examine and interpret blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, technical drawings, specifications and work orders to determine installation requirements, sequences and methods of operation.
Measure, mark and lay out installation reference points, including the location of electrical equipment, wiring pathways, conduits, fixtures and switchboards.
Select, cut, prepare, install and connect electrical wiring, cables, conduits, terminals, connectors and associated fittings.
Install, position, wire and connect electrical switchboards, distribution boards, circuit breakers, safety switches and other electrical control equipment.
Connect electrical systems, circuits and equipment to the power supply in accordance with approved plans and electrical safety requirements.
Install electrical fixtures, outlets, lighting, appliances, motors and other electrical equipment as required.
Use electrical and electronic testing instruments, including multimeters, insulation-resistance testers and circuit testers, to trace, diagnose and identify electrical faults.
Test the continuity, polarity,
insulation resistance and safe operation of electrical circuits and equipment.
Repair, replace or upgrade faulty wiring, defective electrical parts, circuits, switches, outlets, fittings and other electrical components.
Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections of electrical installations and equipment.
Install, test and adjust electrical and mechanical components of lifts, where required, including associated wiring, controls and safety systems.
Install, test and commission solar photovoltaic (PV) power-generation systems, including panels, inverters, isolators, cabling, mounting systems and associated electrical components.
Ensure all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with relevant Australian Standards, electrical regulations, workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.
Complete required testing records, service reports, compliance documentation and other job-related paperwork.
Maintain tools, testing equipment, vehicles and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, supervisors and other team members to coordinate work and resolve technical issues.
Requirements: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Electrotechnology Electrician Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience Current NSW Driver's Licence Current White Card Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical plans, diagrams and specifications.
Experience in electrical installation, maintenance, fault-finding and testing.
Knowledge of electrical safety practices, Australian Standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Solar PV accreditation or experience is desirable where solar installation work is required.
Solid problem-solving, communication and time-management skills.
