As the business continues to expand its presence in the Australian market, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Manager to join their Melbourne team.
About the Role This position will be responsible for reviewing and assessing complex real estate and commercial lending applications, providing credit recommendations, and supporting sound lending decisions across the portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include: Conducting detailed credit analysis across a range of lending applications and providing reasoned recommendations for approval.
Evaluating financial information, supporting documentation and risk factors to support sound lending outcomes.
Identifying and escalating potential fraud, policy exceptions and higher-risk lending scenarios where required.
Ensuring all credit decisions align with internal lending policies, responsible lending obligations and regulatory requirements.
Maintaining accurate and compliant credit records and documentation throughout the assessment process.
Building effective relationships with brokers, customers and internal stakeholders to facilitate turnaround times and positive outcomes.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing credit quality, operational efficiency and service delivery.
Mentoring junior team members and contribute to building capability, consistency and a high-performing culture.
Skills Experience Significant experience in credit assessment, credit risk, commercial lending or real estate finance, including exposure to complex lending transactions.
Previous Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) experience will be highly regarded.
Strong understanding of Australian responsible lending obligations, verification standards, fraud controls and regulatory requirements.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance commercial outcomes and risk considerations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build relationships.
Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting less experienced credit professionals.
