Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join a leading organisation in the resources sector.
Roster: 5/2 Perth CBD Start date: End September Duration: approx.
6 months - depending on client requirements with potential for extension Pay Rate: $65 - $75 p/h + Super depending on experience Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered and contacted.
The Role: This role will be responsible for delivering procurement support across the business, with a strong focus on the purchasing and expediting of goods and services.
You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials and services are sourced competitively, delivered on time and meet required specifications.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Purchasing and expediting materials, parts, supplies, equipment and services.
Obtaining and assessing supplier quotations and identifying cost-competitive and reliable suppliers.
Issuing RFQs and supporting commercial procurement opportunities.
Optimising price, delivery and commercial terms.
Supporting procurement initiatives across capital, maintenance and operational spend.
Ensuring goods and services are ordered and received to specification.
Ensuring accurate costing of materials.
Working with internal stakeholders to understand and meet purchasing requirements.
Managing multiple procurement activities involving financial and operational considerations.
Experience Required:



Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing/procurement.
Experience in a similar Purchasing Officer, Buyer or Procurement role.
SAP experience.
Experience purchasing both goods and services.
Strong understanding of materials and inventory management.
Knowledge of purchase-to-pay and logistics processes.
Experience with RFQs, supplier management and commercial negotiations.
Understanding of commercial and legal terms associated with procurement.
Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
The ability to work effectively within a team and adapt quickly.
Mining or resources industry experience will be highly regarded.
