About the Role: As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for the protected, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical equipment supporting the manufacturing process.
Shift Pattern: The position is a permanent 12-hour day shift role, working from 7:00am to 7:00pm on a rotating roster of four days on and three days off, followed by three days on and four days off.
Your responsibilities will include: Proactively demonstrating a personal commitment to safety and supporting our PROTECT safety culture.
Complete job specific permits, identify hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate control measures.
Performing efficient and effective fault finding to diagnose and repair plant and equipment outages.
Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical, control, and automation systems across the site.
Reading, interpreting, and modifying PLC programs to support fault finding, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prioritising maintenance activities to maximise plant availability in coordination with Maintenance and Production Supervisors.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records through the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Working effectively within a team environment, collaborating with production, maintenance, and engineering personnel to achieve safety, reliability, and operational objectives.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving safety, reliability, quality, and operational performance.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/ experience: A-Grade Electrical Licence Experience working as an Industrial Electrician within a manufacturing or processing environment.
Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, VSDs (Variable Speed Drives), motor control systems, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
Experience reading and modifying PLC programs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar) to diagnose faults, improve equipment performance, and support continuous improvement activities Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
Experience with automation systems and industrial control circuits.
Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, isolation procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
Familiarly to conduct risk assessments and work safely in a high-risk manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team while building positive relationships across production, engineering, and maintenance functions Ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively to a team environment.
