SENIOR AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICIAN / OPERATIONS MANAGER

$75,000 - $85,000 per year + Profit Share

Sublime Audio Visual is looking for an exceptional Senior AV Technician / Operations Manager to take a major role in the next stage of our business.
n
This is not a standard technician position.
n
We are looking for someone who has the technical ability to walk into a difficult show and solve the problem, the organisational ability to make sure the problem never happens in the first place, and the leadership skills to build and manage a high-performing team.
n
If you're currently the person everyone calls when things get complicated, when the gear isn't right, when the schedule falls apart or when a client needs someone who actually knows what they're doing — we want to talk to you.

THE OPPORTUNITY
n
You will become a key operational leader within Sublime Audio Visual.
n
You'll have genuine responsibility across:
n
People. Equipment. Logistics. Events. Clients. Systems. Standards.
n
Your job is to make sure the business is ready to deliver — and then make sure we deliver.
n
You'll oversee the preparation and execution of multiple events, coordinate technicians and casual crew, manage equipment and logistics, and personally take the lead on technically demanding productions when required.
n
You'll have the autonomy to identify what's not working, fix it and implement better systems.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Leading the day-to-day technical and operational delivery of the business
n
Planning multiple events simultaneously
n
Allocating technicians and crew
n
Coordinating equipment, vehicles, deliveries and collections
n
Preparing and checking equipment before events
n
Overseeing bump-ins, event operation and bump-outs
n
Taking senior technical responsibility on major productions
n
Troubleshooting complex audio, video, lighting and signal-flow issues
n
Managing warehouse and equipment standards
n
Maintaining equipment, stock and technical readiness
n
Working directly with clients, venues, event planners and suppliers
n
Assisting with technical quoting and production planning
n
Improving operational systems, workflows and procedures
n
Training and developing technicians
n
Setting and maintaining technical and presentation standards
n
Ensuring jobs are delivered on time, professionally and profitably
n
Identifying problems before they become expensive problems
n
Helping shape the future direction of Sublime Audio Visual
n

You should be technically excellent.

a client meeting, a production plan and a difficult technical problem — sometimes all in the same day.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
n
You should have extensive professional AV experience and be highly confident with a broad range of event technology.
n
We're particularly interested in candidates with strong experience across:

Professional audio systems and signal flow
n
Wireless microphone systems
n
Corporate presentation systems
n
Video distribution and switching
n
TV's Projectors and LED screens
n
Staging and event infrastructure
n
Dante and networked AV
n
RF coordination
n
Corporate events and conferences
n
Complex multi-room productions
n
n
You don't need to be the world's best operator in every discipline.

But you do need to understand how the whole production fits together.
